Basic Ridercourse:

The Basic Rider's Course (BRC) is aimed at beginning beginning riders age 16 and older.  A minimum of seven hours of classroom instruction prepares you for at least eight hours of practical riding in a controlled, off-street environment in a parking lot.  In this course, you will learn how to operate a motorcycle safely, with a lot of emphasis on the special skills and mental attitude necessary for dealing with traffic.  Your instructor is certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.  The instructor  will start you off with straight-line riding, turning, shifting and stopping.  You will gradually progress to cornering, swerving and emergency braking.  In the classroom you will learn about the different types of motorcycles, their controls, and how they operate.  The instructor, an experienced motorcyclist, will advise you on what to wear for comfort and protection.  You will find out how alcohol and other drugs affect your ability to ride safely.  An important segment of the course will show you how to create a strategy for finding in traffic and how to deal with critical situations.  Even if you have been riding for some time, there is always something new to learn.  Course requirements are you may ride your own motorcycle or one of our training motorcycles.  Safety gear you must have to participate consists of a DOT approved helmet, long pants, long-sleeve shirt or jacket, full-finger gloves, sturdy over-the-ankle shoes or boots (preferably leather) and eye protection.  Standard sunglasses are not considered proper eye protection.  This is a non-refundable class and you must be present 100% of the time.  Do not schedule other activities and appointments during this class.  You must satisfactorily pass the written and riding evaluations to receive your class completion card.  Cost of the course is $250.00 per person.   One-on-one training is offered (Call for pricing).  Payment can be by personal or cashiers check made out to Motovation Inc.  Upon receiving the payment we will send you your copy of the Ridercourse Handbook to look over before taking the class.   The class is non-refundable and cancellation must be made one week prior to class starting date.

Experienced Ridercourse:

The ERC is a one-day class that lasts about 5 hours.  The entire course is conducted on the riding range with discussion between range exercises.  There are three levels taught:  Skill builder, License waiver, and Experienced.  The class can be taught with a passenger on your own bike.  License waiver course will qualify the graduate for a motorcycle endorsement provided the student has some past riding experience.  The student must successfully pass a written test and riding evaluation to receive a completion card (License waiver class only).  Students using their own motorcycle must ensure their motorcycle is properly licensed and provide proof of insurance.  The motorcycle should be in good repair and roadworthy. Your motorcycle will be inspected prior to use in the class.  This course is normally conducted on weekdays. If the student does not demonstrate adequate skills for this class they will be credited the cost of the course towards a BRC.   Cost of the course is $100.00 (your bike) and $150.00 (our training bike).  Special pricing available for groups, motorcycle clubs, and returning students.
